Some problems will eventually go away if you ignore them; others definitely won't.

Honesty is a great policy. But it's one thing to tell the truth and another to spill every bean in a cupboard of cans. Some facts are for you to know and others to find out. If asked a straight question, you have a duty to give a straight answer. But if you're not being asked, is it your duty to help someone else phrase the right question? No wait, you don't need anyone to ask a question before something is said. Twist it a little, no one will know.

So you think.
